Electrophysiological correlates of non-symbolic numerical magnitude processing in children: Joining the dots

► We conducted an EEG study on non-symbolic magnitude comparison in children. ► We focused on numerical distance effects in ERP amplitudes and current source activity. ► Parietal positive going ERPs showed effects of distance for all numerical ranges. ► Domain-specific parietal cortex regions were recruited across all number ranges. ► Mediating domain-general functions were involved differentially depending on set size.
