Nanobuffering property of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles in aqueous solution

► We measured local pH value of the magnetite nanoparticles dispersed in an aqueous solution. ►pH buffering property of the magnetite nanoparticles was shown. ► A theoretical model of pH buffering by magnetic nanoparticles was built.
