Self-organized critical model for protein folding

► In this paper we study the fractal behavior of proteins deposited in the protein data bank. ► We observe that protein behaves as SOC object. ► Moreover, the results show that proteins follow distributions q-Gaussian. ► However, the masses and volumes are extensive variables. ► This behavior occurs because power laws don't follow normal curves.
