Upscaling pollutant dispersion in the Mexico City Metropolitan Area

► Modeling of contaminant dispersion is carried out using the method of volume averaging. ► The longitudinal and transverse components of the total dispersion tensor are predicted using representative unit cells. ► Transverse dispersion is highly sensitive to the distribution of local streets and avenues. ► Longitudinal dispersion predictions are well represented with simple unit cell models.
