Room evacuation in the presence of an obstacle

► We studied two pedestrian strategies for the room evacuation. ► Placing a panel improves the room evacuation under both strategies. ► Panel avoidance does not show to be a better strategy. ► Evacuation efficiency strongly depends on the panel-door distance.
