Comparison of the Hurst and DEA exponents between the catalogue and its clusters: The California case

► We calculate the Hurst and DEA exponents for the California seismic catalog. ► We analyze the inter-event times, rate of events and distances between earthquakes. ► We analyze the whole catalog, the declustered catalog and the main clusters. ► We do not find fBm or Lévy statistics for the analyzed series. ► Seismicity cannot be described by a simple statistical model, but has a wide variety of behaviours.
