Conflict game in evacuation process: A study combining Cellular Automata model

► We propose a game-theoretic model on conflicts among evacuees. ► A new framework to study the evolution of conflicts in evacuation is established. ► Simulation results show that rationality leads to vying and inhibits politeness. ► High herding causes a crowd with high rationality more vying in normal conditions. ► High-rationality crowd will spend more evacuation time in emergency situations.
