Analysis of noise-induced bimodality in a Michaelis-Menten single-step enzymatic cycle

► We study a biochemical enzymatic cycle with a Master Equation Approach. ► We show that intrinsic noise is not sufficient to achieve bimodality. ► We provide an analytical result showing how external noise produces bimodality. ► We verify our result by numerical simulations (Gillespie algorithm).
