Identifying all-around nodes for spreading dynamics in complex networks

► We empirically find current ranking measures are correlated in their ranking. ► We introduce the concept of all-around nodes for complex networks. ► An all-around distance is presented as a node ranking heuristic. ► The all-around distance performs well in finding influential nodes.
