Effects of consumption strategy on wealth distribution on scale-free networks

► We investigate the effects of consumption function and preference on wealth distribution. ► Consumption strategy can have a dramatic effect on wealth distribution. ► We indicate nonlinear consumption function may be possible origin to distribution in accordance with empirical data. ► Besides, anti-degree preference and consumption promotion can reduce inequality in wealth distribution. ► This provides an effective method to design consumption strategy in real economy.
