Fractal analysis of powder X-ray diffraction patterns

► Noisy XRD patterns are studied by fractal R/S analysis. ► More ordered solid structures are associated to increased Hurst exponent values of the XRD pattern. ► A crystallinity index is introduced in terms of the distance to uncorrelated behavior.
