Non-Gaussianity of petrophysical parameters using q entropy and a multifractal random walk

► We investigated petroleum reservoirs using Tsallis entropy and a multiplicative hierarchical cascade model. ► The occurrence of non-Gaussianity is a sign of uncertainty that may indicate the existence of petroleum reservoirs. ► We compared scaling behaviours and non-Gaussianity in petrophysical parameters for well-logging data.
