Modeling the clustering in citation networks

► We observe that real citation networks have abundant triangles. ► We use the reference graphs in citation networks to analyze its evolution. ► We propose a growth model for the high clustering of citation networks. ► We show that the existing connecting patterns are critical in modeling clustering.
