Effect of periodic inflow on elevator traffic

► We studied the dynamic behavior of an elevator induced by a periodic inflow. ► We presented the nonlinear-map model for the dynamics of the elevator traffic. ► The elevator displays the periodic and irregular motions when varying the inflow rate period.
