Bubbles and solid structures in a vibrated bed of granular materials

► Computer simulations are performed on GPUs to produce bubbles in a container shaken vertically. ► The air dynamics is solved using LES and the dynamics of grains is described through MD. ► The air-grain interfaces of bubbles are found to exhibit fractal structure with dimension D=1.7.
