Glocal forest and REDD+ governance: win-win or lose-lose?

► The article reviews global forest governance challenges and four case studies. ► I conduct a glocal (global local global) analysis of the win-win potential of REDD+. ► REDD+ may be a win-win solution if it can be designed to fit into local contexts. ► It may also be 'lose-lose' if glocal forest governance cannot address drivers. ► This may exacerbate North-South conflicts and further marginalize the vulnerable.
