Fluvial carbon fluxes in tropical rivers

► Fluvial carbon fluxes are estimated from 175 tropical rivers. ► The DIC concentrations are lower in equatorial rivers than at other latitudes. ► The DOC concentrations in equatorial rivers are the highest in the tropical region. ► Tropical rivers provide approximately 48-64% of the global fluvial carbon flux. ► Asia has the highest specific carbon yields in the tropical region.
