Picea mariana bark: A new source of trans-resveratrol and other bioactive polyphenols

► Ethyl acetate fraction obtained from the hot water extract of Picea mariana bark. ► Isolation and chemical characterisation of major compounds present in this fraction. ► Major identified compounds are neolignans and lignans. ► The trans-resveratrol content is higher than that reported for other sources. ► This is the first exhaustive report cataloguing polyphenols in P. mariana bark.
