Enzymatic production of 5′-inosinic acid by a newly synthesised acid phosphatase/phosphotransferase

► Escherichia blattae JCM 1650 with mutant AP/PTase gene was synthesised and expressed in Escherichia coli. ► 5′-Inosine monophosphate (5′-IMP) was isolated and characterised. ► The molar yield of 5′-IMP reached 45.5%. ► This recombinant AP/PTase has potential for production of 5′-nucleotides.
