The effects of host defence elicitors on betacyanin accumulation in Amaranthus mangostanus seedlings

► Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) or Ethephon treatment increased betacyanin synthesis in Amaranthus seedlings. ► Salicylic acid and H2O2 treatments had no influence on betacyanin contents. ► Both additive and antagonistic effects were found between MeJA and other elicitors.
