Composition analysis and immuno-modulatory effect of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) extract

► Okra polysaccharides (AE-PS) and the maturation of dendritic cells from rat. ► MHC class II and CD80/86 expression are upregulated upon AE-PS treatment. ► Treated cells show reduced endocytosis activity. ► AE-PS activates rat dendritic cells and promotes the secretion of TH1 cytokines.
