Protection of curcumin against fructose-induced hyperuricaemia and renal endothelial dysfunction involves NO-mediated JAK-STAT signalling in rats

► We used fructose-fed rats as a hyperuricaemia and kidney injury model. ► We assayed the anti-hyperuricaemic and renal protective effects of curcumin. ► Curcumin regulates expressions of urate transport-related proteins and NO levels. ► Curcumin inhibits JAK2-STAT3 activation and overexpression of rSOCS3 and rTGF-β1.
