Tuning electric bistability in pentacene film-based transistor embedding aluminum nanoparticles

► Aluminum nanoparticles can be embedded in pentacene films by sequential deposition. ► The surface oxide the particles serves as a barrier both for charge trapping/de-trapping. ► Organophosphonic acid monolayer at the surface allows additional tuning of the barrier. ► Transistor/memory devices based on pentacene/Al-NPs conducting channel can be prepared.
