Comparison of single particle and equivalent circuit analog models for a lithium-ion cell

► Semi-empirical equivalent circuit analog model compared to single particle physics based model. ► We fit the charge and discharge voltage data for lithium-ion cells. ► Several statistical quantities and tests were presented to compare the models. ► We found that the SP model predicts the data better than the ECA model. ► The computation times for both models are at the same order of magnitude.
