Synthesis of hexadecylamine capped nanoparticles using group 12 complexes of N-alkyl-N-phenyl dithiocarbamate as single-source precursors

► Group 12 metal dithiocarbamates have been synthesized and isolated as air stable solids. ► The complexes were characterized by elemental analyzes, FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. ► The complexes were used as single molecular precursors for the synthesis of nanoparticles. ► The optical and structural properties of the nanoparticles were evaluated.
