The syntheses and characterization of Os(II) and Ru(II)/Os(II) bimetallic complexes with dipyrido(2,3-a:3′,2′-j)phenazine (dpop′) and the bridging ligand 2,3,5,6-tetra(2-pyridyl)-pyrazine (tppz)

The synthesis of the monometallic mixed ligand [Os(dpop′)(tppz)](PF6)2 complex is described, and it is used as a building block for Os(II)/Os(II) and Ru(II)/Os(II) bimetallic complexes. UV-Vis absorption spectra and electrochemical results are presented. NMR spectra are used to verify the structure and purity of the synthetically challenging complexes.
