Copper(II) complexes of bis(pyrazol-1-yl)methane - Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, X-ray structure and DFT calculations

► Two novel copper(II) complexes incorporating bis(pyrazol-1-yl)methane ligand were synthesized and characterized. ► The azide compound creates one-dimensional zigzag chain structure extending along the crystallographic direction [0 0 1]. ► The spectroscopic features of the Cu(II) compounds were investigated by DFT and TD-DFT.
