Synthesis, spectroscopic and structural properties of uranyl complexes based on bipyridine N-oxide ligands

► We synthesized three novel uranyl complexes with bipyO and bipyO2 ligands. ► Crystal structures and luminescence properties of the complexes were determined. ► Complex structures as monomers, dimmers or polymers were determined. ► Luminescence properties depend on the structures and type of silica matrices.
