Homo- and hetero-metallic manganese citrate complexes: Syntheses, crystal structures and magnetic properties

Mn citrate coordination polymers including Mn/Na and Mn/Ca hetero-bimetal components were synthesized and characterized. The citrate exhibits new coordination modes to connect up to eight or nine metal ions. Weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn(II) sites were correlated to the coordination modes of the carboxylate groups.
