Synthesis and characterization of new metal-free and metallophthalocyanines containing spherical or cylindrical macrotricyclic moieties

Cylindrical or spherical macropolycyclic group substituted metal-free and Ni(II) phthalocyanines have been synthesized from the corresponding phthalonitrile derivatives. The new compounds have been characterized by physical and spectroscopic techniques.
