Anionic dihalotetraacetatodiruthenium(II,III) compounds

The synthesis and characterization of Q[Ru2Cl2(μ-O2CMe)4] [Q = NEt4 (1), PPh4 (2)], Q[Ru2Br2(μ-O2CMe)4] [Q = NEt4 (3), PPh4 (4), K (5)] and Q[Ru2I2(μ-O2CMe)4] [Q = NEt4 (6), PPh4 (7)] are described. The structure of 1-3, 5 and 7 were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The electronic properties of all compounds are also explored. Their solvatochromism is less accentuated than the corresponding monohalo derivatives.
