Synthesis, crystal structure, and magnetic properties of binuclear MnIII-azido and 1D polymeric MnII-μ1,3-thiocyanato novel species based on a neutral hexadentate Schiff base

The binuclear manganese(II) units of this novel 1D chain are bridged via two μ1,3-NCS anions. In spite of the quite long Mn⋯S distance (3.084 Å), weak intermolecular antiferromagnetic interactions (J = −1.5 cm−1) are transmitted by the μ1,3-NCS bridges between pairs of MnII ions located at 6.2 Å of each other.
