Synthesis of novel β-carboline based chalcones with high cytotoxic activity against breast cancer cells

A novel series of β-carboline based chalcones was synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against a panel of human cancer cell lines. Among all, compound 7c was identified as the most potent analogue that showed marked apoptotic activity in breast cancer cells.
