Synthesis and anti-H5N1 activity of chiral gossypol derivatives and its analogs implicated by a viral entry blocking mechanism

Amino acid derivatives of chiral gossypol and its analogs inhibited H5N1 production most effectively at the H5N1 entry step of cell infection, likely targeting to the HA2 protein.
