Pin1 inhibitors: Pitfalls, progress and cellular pharmacology

Multiple approaches have led to the identification of potent inhibitors of Pin1, a peptidyl prolyl isomerase implicated in tumourigenesis. Here we discuss the modes of action and likely specificity of these compounds and the prospects for identification of improved inhibitors in the future.
