Brightly fluorescent purple and blue labels for amines and proteins

Fluorescent labels for amino acids and proteins were obtained that display excellent temporal and photo-stability as shown below for solutions of a purple and a blue dye (compounds 3 and 8) that were stored in aqueous solution on a desk for more than 1 year.
