Regioselective synthesis of fraxinellone-based hydrazone derivatives as insecticidal agents

An efficient route for the regioselectively allylic oxidation of fraxinellone was developed. Especially 6d and 7a exhibited the most pronounced insecticidal activity compared with toosendanin, a commercial botanical insecticide derived from Melia azedarach.
