Preliminary study of anti-infective function of a copper-bearing stainless steel

► 317L stainless steel containing 4.5% Cu (317L-Cu SS) showed strong antibacterial role. ► 317L-Cu SS could inhibit the formation of bacterial bio-film on its surface. ► 317L-Cu SS showed anti-infective role in vivo.
