Biomimetic self-assembly of calcium phosphate templated by PNIPAAm nanogels for sustained smart drug delivery

► PNIPAAm/CaP hybrid nanocomposites were prepared by biomimetic self-assembly. ► The interaction between PAA and Ca2+ enabled the homogeneity and robustness of nanocomposite. ► Drug release behaviors were pH- and thermal-responsive. ► The release profile was sustained with the introduction of CaP.
