Facile fabrication of the glutaraldehyde cross-linked collagen/chitosan porous scaffold for skin tissue engineering

► A facile method to prepare the glutaraldehyde (GA) cross-linked collagen/chitosan porous scaffold was developed. ► Shortcomings of the previous method such as surface collapse, cracks are overcome. ► Residual GA of the scaffold can be removed by simply dried in oven. ► Good cytocompatibility of the scaffold is retained.
