چکیده انگلیسی
This study investigated Young׳s modulus (E) of carbon-bonded oxide refractories as a function of the porosity (P) and temperature (T). Young׳s modulus changed significantly in the whole investigated temperature range. A strong increase of Young׳s modulus from 400 to 1000 °C was followed by a slight decrease up to 1450 °C. During cooling Young׳s modulus decreased below the initial level. This behavior might be regarded qualitatively similar for all porosity levels. Nevertheless, for a higher porosity Young׳s modulus remained lower within the whole temperature range. The experimental data of Young׳s modulus in dependence on the porosity at room temperature indicated a good agreement with well-known models (Spriggs, 1961 [4], Phani and Niyogi, 1986 [25]) in a porosity range of 14-23%. Furthermore, a model for E(P,T) according to Munro (2004) [27] was fitted to the experimental data and proved valid for the investigated material up to 1025 °C.
