A new series of double perovskites SrBiMTiO6 (M=Fe, Mn, Cr) have been synthesized via the conventional solid state reaction method and their crystal structure and magnetic properties are investigated. Rietveld analysis of X-ray powder diffraction patterns reveals that all the samples are stabilized in a cubic perovskite phase with Pm3Ìm space group without the M/Ti cations ordering. XPS measurements confirm the mixed valence state of M/Ti ions. Magnetic characterization reveals that there is no Curie-Weiss behavior in the entire explored range of temperature for SrBiFeTiO6 and SrBiCrTiO6 double perovskites due to the existence of spin glass or cluster glass states. For SrBiMnTiO6, Curie-Weiss fit indicates the dominance of ferromagnetic correlations in the paramagnetic region. Spin glass or cluster glass states also exist in the low temperature of SrBiMnTiO6.
