Composition-structure-property relationships of CaO-MO-SiO2 (MÂ =Â Mg2Â +, Mn2Â +) systems derived from micro-Raman spectroscopy

► Structure-property correlation of silicates was developed using Raman spectroscopy. ► Q3/Q2 ratio was found to be a novel index for a degree of polymerization. ► Effect of Mn and Mg on calcium silicate structure was clarified. ► Viscosity, density, conductivity can be quantitatively expected using Q3/Q2 ratio. ► This methodology can be widely extended to multicomponent silicate systems.
