Structural modifications induced by addition of copper oxide to lead-phosphate glasses

► xCuO(1-x)[2P2O5·PbO] glass, was prepared and analyzed by EPR and IR spectroscopy. ► Change of the coordination polyhedra for Cu2 + ions from tetragonal local symmetry ► The increases of CuO content induced a depolymerization evidenced in IR spectra.
