Amorphous phase as possible origin of additional absorption bands in polycrystalline ZnO films

► Polycrystalline ZnO films were grown on glass using Pechini's method. ► Films feature additional absorption bands in the wavelength region around 300 nm. ► Additional absorption bands seem to be related to an amorphous phase. ► Amorphortization may increase the localized states in the conduction band.
