Hardness and free volume distributions of Zr-based alloys spot treated by laser beam

► Using finite element and classic formula, free volume distribution can be calculated. ► Hardness distribution of the spot treated by laser beam was measured. ► Hardness decreases with increase of free volume was verified by serrated flow.
