Influence of molybdenum ions on spectroscopic and dielectric properties of ZnF2-Bi2O3-P2O5 glass ceramics

► ZnF2-Bi2O3-P2O5: MoO3 glass ceramics were prepared by melt quenching and thermal treatment techniques. ► XRD, SEM and DTA reveal the presence of different crystal phases. ► IR and Raman studies show the transformation of molybdenum ions from tetrahedral to octahedral units. ► ESR and optical absorption spectra confirm the presence of Mo5 + ion. ► Dielectric studies indicate the semi‐conducting nature at higher concentration of MoO3.
