Synthesis, characterization and biofunctionalization of magnetic gold nanostructured particles

- Urchin-like nanostructured particles were prepared in organic phase.
- Particles have a magnetic core composed by magnetite nanoparticles.
- Particles have an external shell formed by gold crystals.
- The diameter could be controlled between 100 and 500 nm.
- This is, to our knowledge, the first report of size controlled preparation of this kind of particles.
