Hexagonal ZnO porous plates prepared from microwave synthesized layered zinc hydroxide sulphate via thermal decomposition

- Zinc hydroxy sulphate was synthesized in 3 min via microwave hydrothermal route.
- Zinc hydroxy sulphate was converted into mesh like porous ZnO by calcining at 900°.
- The process of transformation is topotactic.
