Liquid-phase plasma synthesis of silicon quantum dots embedded in carbon matrix for lithium battery anodes

- Silicon quantum dots embedded in carbon matrix (SiQDs/C) were fabricated.
- SiQDs/C exhibits excellent battery performance as anode materials with high specific capacity.
- The good performance was attributed to the marriage of small sized SiQDs and carbon.
